What is resilience? It's that life skill that allows you to bounce back no matter what life throws at you.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (2015) defines resilience as “the ability to withstand, adapt to, and recover from adversity and stress.”
When you possess resilience, you are able to get up, dust yourself off, and keep going.
Resilient people bend, they do not break. Many of the challenges that we face in our life feel as though they're the end of everything, we can get caught up believing we'll never get over that breakup, that we can never earn back our reputation after a bad performance at work, it feels as though this misery is a permanent state.
